Version 28 Highlights

It has been over 40 years of Easy-PC in one form or another, going right back to the early DOS versions (which can still be imported incidentally!), this year we have introduced over 40 new features into Version 28.

In this years release of Easy-PC, we have focused on five main areas of the product - Application, Library Management and Library content creation, Designing and Editing, Design Integrity and Checking, along with Plotting and Manufacturing. All key areas within the product, and all requested by you, the user.

Upgrading to Version 28

The core of your design is the actual designing and editing process. Easy-PC 28 introduces many small features to enhance your design experience to just go that little bit further. Shape editing and manipulation with Pasting shapes to create cutouts, cutting shapes and own colour of individual text items provide greater flexibility. Flip has been split; Horizontal flip in the X axis (as before) and the new Flip Vertical mode flips in the Y axis. There is a new command to Rotate around the centre of items. New Callout pointer shapes using a Cross and 'Plus'. New modes to aid PCB prototyping, such as Change Shape Type for text and Add Text Cutout to create 'negative' text in copper shapes. When creating Differential Pairs and swapping layers, you can now visualise the landing position of vias and the start point of the paired track segments.

Checking and Integrity

Some significant changes to the overall underlying geometry mean greater stability and accuracy when pouring copper areas. This follows into the reorganised DRC dialog and enhanced checks. The Goto error bar has two new features to shortcut to the DRC option and the ability to select all 'category' items in the error list, meaning they can be actioned as a group within the design.

Plotting and Manufacture

Plotting and Manufacture Improvements

The plotting option has been improved to aid oversize plots, as would be used for solder masks. This improvement is also reflected within the design itself where the Via Oversize displayed matches the Layer Type settings. Filtering for Layer Types has been added for the filtering of Testlands, Layer Exceptions and Star Points. Drill ident creation has been overhauled so that idents can be automatically generated from the design. Existing drill ident tables now shows if the ident is used or not. The automatic generation of a full set of plots has been added to ease the plotting set creation.

Component Search Engine With Access To Over 15 Million Components

With the Easy-PC version 26 update, you get continued free access to the Component Search Engine. This provides you with over 15 million components and their symbols (Schematic and PCB) instantly available from the web site. This service is an unlimited access to content that can be interactively downloaded directly onto the end of your cursor, ready for placement in Easy-PC and automatically loaded into your Easy-PC library.

Manufacturer values added to Components

All manufacturer values such as Part Number and Price are added to the Component during download to your Easy-PC design. This further reduces the time taken to create components and ensures they contain all relevant values needed for your Bill of Material (BOM).

Libraries

SPECIAL OFFERS - Library Upgrades

Pro-Library 8 Update The Pro-Library has over just over 121,000 associated Symbols and Footprints.

Micro Library 8 Update Over 14,300 Micro-controller components.

Connector Library 3 Update

248 additional Connector components were added to Connector Library 3 taking the total to over 20,000. Components have been added from the Tyco ranges; 1734261, 1734289, HPI, HPI_125, HPI_125SMT, HPI_125SRA and MiniCT.
